The owner or authorized agent of the owner shall apply for a CSDCMAPFEC on a form provided by the Fire Prevention Bureau. Applications may be obtain at the front desk of the Municipal Building at 58 Meyersville Road. The certificate is not transferable. If the change of occupancy does not occur within six (6) months, a new application shall be required. All applications must be completed and a request for an inspection must be made to the office of the Fire Prevention Bureau. You must apply at least TWO weeks before your closing date for your inspection. There is a $50.00 application fee for each application. Missed appointments and failed inspections are subjected to a $40.00 re-inspection fee.

Inspection Scheduling:

Inspections are conducted by the Randolph Fire Prevention Bureau on Monday mornings between 9:30 am and 11:30 am. Please be sure to schedule your appointment for an inspection as soon as you are able because slots fill up quickly.

Central Station/Low Voltage Alarm Systems:
If your home has a central station/low voltage alarm system, and this is the primary system, it must be installed as per the New Jersey Uniform Construction Code. The system must be fully operational including the battery backup system. There must be a sounder for the system on each level of the home and the sounder must be loud enough to be heard in each bedroom with the door closed (a min. of 70 decibels in the room). Someone must be present who knows how to operate the system as it will be set off and must be reset several times. Contact your alarm service company for more information.

For homes with a Monitored Central Alarm System (which is the only fire alarm system), an NFPA 72 Inspection Report certifying that the system is fully functional must be provided to the Bedminster Fire Inspector at or prior to the Bedminster Township CSACMAPFEC inspection (but not more than 30 Days prior to the scheduled town inspection).  This must be done by a NJ- licensed fire protection company.
